Well, I've done it. Yesterday, I became the owner of a new, 2008 Prius hybrid. (HDR image below is the new car.)

A Toyota Prius uses both gas and electric engines to power the vehicle. The average gas mileage of a Prius is 46 MPG. That compares with about 11 MPG I was getting with my 2002 GMC Yukon XL. Thus, I've cut my fuel consumption substantially.

Plus, the car is perfect for a tech and gadget lover. It has a touch-screen command panel on the center of the dash that controls everything and gives readouts on the hybrid engine (mileage, where power is being generated, etc.). Very cool. Also, there's a port to plug in my iPhone and Bluetooth in the car.

It's fun to drive, as well. Nice pickup, handling, braking. The only problem is they're hard to get. I waited 7 weeks, and was told the wait list now in my market is 6 months...
